How Davies Law collects, uses and protects personal information, in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Who we are

Davies Law ("we", "us", "our") is a law firm based at 1 St Georges Bay Road, Parnell, Auckland 1052, New Zealand. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal information gathered through this website, davieslaw.co.nz.

Information we collect

When you use the enquiry form on our Contact page, we collect the information you provide, which may include your first and last name, email address, phone number, the area of law your enquiry relates to, and any details you include in your message.

We do not otherwise collect personal information through this website. We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies on this site.

How we collect it

Enquiry form submissions are processed through Formspree, a third-party form-handling service, and delivered to our firm's email inbox. We only collect information you choose to provide directly to us.

Our Home and Contact pages also include an embedded Google Maps location and links to our Google Business listing. Any interaction with these embedded features is subject to Google's own privacy policy, not this one.

How we use your information

We do not sell, rent or use your personal information for marketing purposes without your consent.

Disclosure to third parties

We do not share your personal information with third parties except where necessary to respond to your enquiry (for example, our form-processing provider, Formspree), where required by law, or where necessary to provide legal services to you as a client, in accordance with our professional obligations of confidentiality.

Data storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from loss, unauthorised access, use, or disclosure. Our website is hosted through Cloudflare, and standard technical information (such as IP addresses) may be logged automatically as part of normal website security and operation.

How long we keep it

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry, or, if you become a client, in accordance with our professional and legal obligations as a law firm regarding client records.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to ask for access to, and correction of, any personal information we hold about you. To make a request, please contact us using the details below.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you remain unsatisfied, you have the right to make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
