STEPHEN DAVIES

Principal

Stephen was educated at Auckland Grammar School, and graduated from The University of Auckland with BA and LLB degrees. He was admitted to the Bar as a Barrister & Solicitor in 1981. He began practicing as a solicitor in a legal practice - Webb Morice & Partners in Pukekohe and then followed a brief stint in industry – Lees Industries, a subsidiary of New Zealand Forest Products as Company Solicitor and Administration Manager. In 1985 he became a founding partner in Davies Orr & Co in New Lynn, Auckland.

In 1995 Stephen commenced practice on his own account in the style of Davies Law.

Stephen has continued to invest heavily in technology and an infrastructure to support a rapidly expanding business in an evermore demanding and constantly changing legal market. He plays an active role in contributory mortgage investments through Davies & Co Solicitors Nominee Company Ltd.

JANNAH GRANT

Practice Manager

Jannah began her career working as a trust accountant in Rangiora, North Canterbury. Having become interested in the law, she undertook part
time study for a legal executive certificate. In her second year of study she moved to Christchurch and took up a position as a law clerk handling residential conveyancing. After completing her legal executive certificate she decided it was time to broaden her horizons and headed for Auckland.

Jannah manages the accounts department and the practice administration and also maintains her interest in residential conveyancing. She has become a trusted member of the management team and works closely with Stephen Davies to further develop the finance activities within the Nominee Company. 

In her spare time she has a growing interest in the personal property market, she gets to the gym as often as she can and enjoys socialising with good company and good food.

JEANNA WU

Legal Consultant

Jeanna Wu graduated from University of Auckland with an LLM (Hons).

Before immigrating to New Zealand Jeanna practiced in China as a lawyer, specialising in foreign investment legal services. Jeanna has an interest, enthusiasm and growing knowledge in various areas of law in different jurisdictions. Her various experiences have given her good communication skills, knowledge of how to serve people, ability to complete the tasks given and represent clients’
interests effectively.

Working as a Legal Consultant in Davies Law, Jeanna not only has knowledge of domestic law but also understands the Chinese background and thus has the ability to serve the Chinese community.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching movies, swimming and travelling.

DANISHA LANG SIU

Staff Solicitor

Danisha spent 7 years studying at the University of Auckland. She has achieved a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Marketing), Graduate Diploma in Commerce (specialising in Economics) and a Bachelor of Laws.

During her period of study, Danisha worked at a privately owned company specialising in conveyancing, which complemented her study in law.

She enjoys watching sports including rugby union, league and basketball. Her hobbies include netball, touch rugby, dancing, reading, travelling and spending
quality time with family and friends.

Danisha has always had a passion for law and is particularly interested in the areas of tax and commercial law.

CEDAR-WOOD TRILLIAN BROWN

Staff Solicitor

Cedar graduated from the University of Auckland with an LLB and a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics. She began her legal career in a general practice with a focus on Family, Criminal Law and Conveyancing. She enjoyed the challenge of litigation but has always had an interest in Property Law and Commercial Law and is excited to be involved in these areas at Davies Law.

Cedar completed most of her Secondary schooling in Samoa, including attendances at St Marys, Robert Louis Stevenson School and Samoa College. She is thankful for that time as it has brought her closer to Samoa as home. She had prepared for a degree in Civil Engineering, having completed a University Preparatory Year at the National University of Samoa. At that point however she decided that she would be more suited to a career in Law. Cedar has found law to be a challenging and rewarding profession, and has no regrets.

She enjoys the performing arts and has been involved in various sports over the years. She has a particular interest in the martial arts having practised Karate and Taekwon-do. She also enjoys watching Rugby in particular the All Blacks and the Samoan National side.
